Quizno’s Fails The Smell Test – Email Marketing Fail Courtesy Of Quiznos.

I received this email “offer” from Quizno’s. Notice the tease in the headline (which is great!). But in the graphic, the word “free” doesn’t jump at me anywhere.

But $2.99 sure does…

The Supreme Rule of Advertising: DO NOT LIE to your audience.

I don’t care if the coupon (were I to actually click on the link and retrieve it) told me I’d get $10 back.

When you say you’re “buying me lunch” I’m sure not expecting to fork over cash.

Its deceptive, and badly damages the brand.

I don’t like being lied to in a coupon or offer. Nor does anyone else reading the email.
